The 200 business leaders and top managers who form a part of the Círculo de Empresarios are linked by their urge to use our studies and proposals to help improve the Spanish society. Our analysis is conducted from the business point of view, but we simultaneously promote general interest.
We define ourselves as a group project of business responsibility that operates a think tank, which from the beginning has defended free enterprise and the free market and promoting business as a source of employment creation, progress, social well-being, and the entrepreneurial spirit.
We generate ideas and proposals by organising our members into working groups that carry out our activities over the years in three important areas: (i) the growth of the Spanish economy; (ii) improved quality of our institutions; and (iii) responsible & ethical behaviour in the business environment.

We want our ideas to be useful so that day-by-day Spain can become a more competitive and prosperous country. This is why we have adopted the motto “Ideas for Growth”. Growth is the answer to the issues and challenges that we collectively face. We have to grow to be able to create employment and wealth, to combat the deficit and debt that hinder our progress, and thus consolidate a welfare state based on the effort and solidarity of all Spaniards. To grow in a globalised economy it is imperative to improve our competitiveness, and to do this, we must intensify structural reforms. |
We seek a high-quality institutional framework that offers security and confidence and will attract investments. We endorse a growth that does not contribute to inequality, but rather, helps to overcome it. Equal opportunities, which are most solidly based on education, should be our main objective. And for the growth to be healthy, it must be based on transparency, on the fight against corruption, and in actions based on high ethical standards.
