(Tuesday, March 19, 2024) Juan María Nin Génova, to date the vice-chairman of the Círculo de Empresarios, has assumed the chairmanship of the business association for the coming three years. He replaces Mr. Manuel Pérez-Sala, who has been appointed honorary chairman by the Board of Directors. The new chairman has appointed Carmen Mateo and Isabel Dutilh, as new vice-chairs, with the latter also serving as legal counsel, and has renewed the terms of office of Ana Argelich and José María López de Letona. The post of treasurer will be occupied by Ricardo Martínez Rico.
Upon his departure, the outgoing chairman thanked the members of the Círculo for their support, reminding them of the “three difficult years in which we have strived to defend the figure of business people, the importance of strong, independent institutions to ensure business freedom and private enterprise, proposing major structural reforms needed by our country and initiating consideration of how to improve the lives of future generations”.
As part of his speech accepting the position, the new chairman acknowledged the trust placed in him and indicated: “The importance of the institution, which will soon celebrate its 50th anniversary, its significant role in the development of Spanish civil society and its continuing positive contribution as a think-tank aimed at progress by way of freedom and justice through collaboration with other national and international institutions, the government and authorities and the business world”.
