Corruption Perceptions Index 2025 (Infographic)

Since 1995, Transparency International has analyzed countries perceived corruption based on in-depth surveys and evaluations provided by experts and business leaders.
The 2025 report found perceived corruption to be at its highest level in a decade.
Two thirds of the 182 countries received deficient scores (below 50).
Independent institutions, more transparent public services and whistleblowing mechanisms are key to reducing corruption.
Recent years have seen a remarkable increase in perceived corruption
The increase in perceived corruption affects many countries that traditionally received high scores, such as the US, Canada and several EU
In Europe, perceived corruption is highest in southern and eastern countries
Spain has dropped 19 places since 2019 and now ranks below the EU average.
Spain ranks 49 out of 182 countries, behind Fiji and Cyprus but ahead of Italy and Poland.
