(Miércoles, 24 de abril de 2024) The Círculo de Empresarios has published the document “People-centred healthcare” in which it proposes furthering public-private sector partnerships taking advantage of the strengths of both the public and private spheres, expanding access to medical attention and improving the efficiency and quality of healthcare services. Produced in partnership with EY, the document was presented by the Vice-chair of the Círculo and Chairwoman of Cariotipo, Carmen Mateo, along with the chairman of the Healthcare working group and Chairman of Ellis & Partners, Pedro J. Nieto, during the course of a session held at the Pérez-Llorca Auditorium.
The presentation was followed by a debate moderated by Carmen Mateo, which included the participation of Enrique Castellón, Chairman of Cross Road Biotech, Jaime del Barrio, Senior Health & Life Sciences Advisor at EY and Pedro J. Nieto.
At a time in which the Government is driving healthcare reforms and the European Union fostering legislative changes, the Círculo considers this the appropriate moment to carry out an analysis of current realities. These are “marked by an ageing population and the increased prevalence of chronic illness, threatening to overload the national healthcare budget and its financial sustainability”. This situation has “a direct impact on healthcare, affecting the quality of patient care and the quality of life of the population in general”.
