One of the main objectives of the Círculo de Empresarios is to analyse the different areas of Spain’s economic and social reality and to offer ideas and constructive proposals for the benefit of Spanish society as a whole. In this sense, we have always been concerned about our Welfare State, and making it sustainable and responsive to the needs of our citizens.
The quality of our Healthcare sytem, as one of the pillars of this Welfare State, is a capital issue that the Círculo de Empresarios has addressed since its origins. In recent years we have been devoting various reflections to this subject, both through general documents such as those analysing the State Budget that we publish annually, and, more specifically, through in-depth documents such as those we published in 2006 and 2012 under the title “A sustainable health system I and II”.
On this occasion, our inclination to open up essential issues for citizens to public debate and to do so whenever possible in collaboration with renowned experts on the subject, has led us to participate in this publication that we now present, together with the editors of previous editions of the hot topics of Spanish Health, grouped in Vargas, Pomés & Riesgo consultores. The result of this collaboration is this new edition of the Ten Pressing Issues of Spanish Health System in 2019, written with the contributions of a working group of experts from various fields, and with the collaboration of the Health Working Group of the Business Circle chaired by Pedro Nieto.
